"An elf walked into a bar. The dwarf laughed and walked under it!"
It’s time for a comedy night at the Green Dragon!
Just don’t laugh at live dragons, and you’ll be fine!

    Date: Friday July 6
Time: 7:30 PM UK time / 2:30 PM servertime
Location: Green Dragon Inn, Bywater, Laurelin server

Do you know a funny story or a poem that would make even the Bounder Statue chuckle?
Is your head filled with funny riddles, puns, and jokes about chickens who crossed the dinner table?
Can you sing a song that makes the audience roll on the floor like rolling scones?

    Now’s your chance!

On 6th July, we dedicate the Green Dragon Friday to all things funny, or things that folks typically regard as funny. Well, the hobbits at the Dragon are an easy audience when it comes to comedy, so no need to feel anxious, fellow comedians and comediennes. It doesn’t have to be the funniest joke in the world, and hopefully it’s not, because of the grievous side effects of the so-called “killer jokes”. Other than that, all funny things are especially welcome on this evening – feel free to be creative!

Also, we encourage you to contribute to the funniness of the evening by dressing up a fun outfit. Time to try out all those silly dresses and other clothing your granny sends you each Yule; a chance to give all those festival masks a purpose to exist.

If you’d like to perform, no need to sign up beforehand – just come to Green Dragon in good time and let Miss Pycella (the hostess) know about it, and she will arrange you a spot. Please try to keep your contributions concise (10 minutes max. per performer), so that the other jolly jokers will have a chance to take the Green Dragon rug as well. Optionally, you can sign up beforehand too; just send a Quick Post letter to Miss Pycella before the evening and hope that the Quick Post hobbits won’t lose your letter, Miss-deliver it nor feed it to the slugs.

See you on 6th July at the Green Dragon, starting at seven and half bells in the evening as usual!

    OOC:
This will be a usual Green Dragon evening, where hobbits and travelling dwarves are welcome. If you want to perform something at the event, please make sure that your content fits in the world of LOTRO, as this is a roleplaying event. So no jokes about Master Ronaldo or somet of that sort, please.

    Hullo!

Friday is soon here and the programme starts to shape up! One more tip for the guests: if you have something you could throw (rotten fruit, petals, snowballs and so on), feel free to smuggle them to Green Dragon, you might have use for them. *winks*

    See you on Friday!

Thanks all who came to have some fun at the Giggling Dragon Friday! A special thanks to all who contributed to the evening with music, jokes, silly costumes and by giggling along!

The evening started with some welcome words from me and the song about Brockenborings Blue. Then, an inn guest dressed as Miss "Lotty" had a row of inn jokes which made the audience roll on the floor with laughter. She didn't even have to throw any apples at us! Also, we had some funny pierate music from the Brandywine Buccaneers, Captain Hooh and his assistant, Master Whye. Master Benjyman performed a fishy tune for us.

We also had two special games during the evening. First, I told some silly riddles to the audience. If they didn't guess the right answer, they had the chance to throw apples and other stuff at me, boo, mock and howl at me, in a proper Frostbluff theatre manner. Later, we also had a backwards race inside the inn. The contestants had to race backwards from the inn door to the bar, drink there, to the cellar, drink there, and to the rug, and drink there as well. Miss Nimelia noted that this is also the routine bounder route. Miss Oleander-Rose was the first to cross the sticky finish line, and she got a bubbling fish pipe for her efforts. Master Bonkadoc got the prize for the amount of drinks he consumed. Three gold coins were given to him, so that he can buy even more drinks and eventually drink the Shire dry (of turnip juice too, hopefully). Miss Tholpa got a prize for her style which involved some reverse swaying: she got a midsummer comet kite. As an extra award, the guest dressed as a bounder "Depotty" got a picnic dress for some undercover duties. Of course, the evening included the usual stuff: news, gossip, the Bywater Bouncing song and singing along to "Home Sweet Home", and the outdoor fizzers show.

I was busy with hosting and laughing myself, but I managed to make some drawings too!

Master Benjyman strums a fishy tune. You can see the bounder Depotty at the left, Miss Lotty hoppin' on the rug, and Miss Oleander-Rose on the right, dressed as a bunny in a gift box.

Thanks all for coming! Oh, and I think I need to hide from Barmy for the next week or so.... He didn't look very happy after the mess I organised!

Thanks for the report on Giggling Dragon Friday, Pycella! I am very sorry that I had to miss it. A friend of mine was sorry too, as he had a very suitable song he would have loved to sing. Well, maybe he can do so on another Friday.
