A poem dedicated to the finest of instruments, the little lute!

    Little Lutes

Some instruments you have to toot
And others make a louder hoot
But best of all, is something small
The tender strings of little lutes

And using fingers or a thumb
It's little strings you have to strum
A tiny sweep, will make it sweet
To play the tunes for everyone

And when you tweak those little strings
Just like the smallest bells that ring
You'll make a tune, that fills the room
And everyone will want to sing

Although the strings may number four
It sounds like there are many more
So rich the sounds, that plays around
Sweet harmonies will wait in store

So softly, loudly, fast or slow
    The melodies will quickly flow
The lute reigns free, so easily
From tiny things do great things grow

Some people they may play the flute
Or take a horn and try to hoot
But small is good, so if you could
Come join the fun with little lutes!

O, what a lovely poem again, Master Simbo!
And knowing you like little lutes I made up this:

I'll introduce you, if I may,
to another little lute, I say.
Called baglamas, and yes, it was (and is!)
In Greece that these they play:

Thanks for this wonderful little-lutem, Simbo, I love it!!!
And thanks for introducing this tiny lute, Miss Rubellita! I thought Cousin Simbo and I had the smallest ones there were, but obviously I was so much mistaken!

If we could get a-hold of a bunch of them little lutes, then maybe we could play some of that *coughs* pipe music that we've, erm... come across by accident .... *hopes Lina is too distracted elsewhere to be reading the noticeboard*
