I didn't write this song, and it definitely wasn't recited at the Green Dragon on Friday. Absolutely not. That would have been naughty.... The Bagpipes The cat's away Us mice will play It's time to have Our wicked way! I think we might This naughty night All make a noise With our bagpipes! No, not the lute Or even flutes It's on bagpipes We all should toot! So, with a blow It's off with go The pipes will make A rousing show! Lets make a din, Inside this Inn! And startle folk As they come in But what a sound! Where pipes are found A welcome noise For all around! But best watch out Yes, look about For some dislike These pipes, no doubt! One final call! Let pipes all bawl! Before Miss Lina Sees you all!
This would have been a grand poem, Master Simbo, if you had written it and someone would have recited it in the Dragon. I'm sure the crowd would have loved it. One probably could have called it real inspiring!
Others migh call it rebellious disorder! If it had ever been recited, that is, good thing hobbits are sensible and caring *nods sagely*
